Two-Weekend Series at Legends Field Brings Professional and NCAA Division I Softball Together for the First Time, October 10 & 17

KANSAS CITY (August 17, 2026) — The Kansas City Diamonds today announced the inaugural Diamonds University Classic presented by Hy-Vee, a first-of-its-kind two-weekend event pairing the Diamonds against four NCAA Division I programs at Legends Field. Hy-Vee will serve as title sponsor for the series.

The Diamonds University Fall Classic will feature triple-headers on both Saturday, Oct. 10 and Saturday, Oct. 17, bringing the Diamonds together with the University of Kansas, the University of Nebraska, the University of Missouri and Wichita State University for a combined six games across the two weekends.

“This event is about bringing the best of professional and collegiate softball to one field, in front of the fans who have supported this game in Kansas City for generations,” said Jeremy McDowell, founder of the Kansas City Diamonds. “Having Hy-Vee sponsor this series speaks to how far women's softball has come in this market, and how far it's going.”

Season ticket holder pre-sale begins Tuesday, Aug. 18. Tickets go on sale to the general public Thursday, Aug. 20.
